O.A.B. provides user-access to a repository of digitized books with a focus on the history of Mount Olympus National Park [Greece]. Digitized pages from rare books and recent publications are freely available for visitors to study, copy and use. Textual-evidence from the first ascents, photographs of early explorers, ecological features and cultural heritage, are now open for research, thanks to the authors’ permission for digitization and online distribution.
The archive database includes a catalog of books organized in chronological order, offering users the ability to store data for offline use. Some of these books have unspecified copyright statuses or are out-of-commerce. Respecting the open-access manifesto, we strive to fulfill our commitment to preserving and sharing the history of our region.
The O.A.B. collective was established to gather and share digital content, providing accessible, non-profit, and non-commercial information about the climbing history of Mount Olympus.
